§ 5.44.110. Time within which to grant or deny permit.

    Within 30 days after the filing of an application for a permit, the City Clerk shall review the application together with the reports and the recommendations of the Police Chief, Fire Chief, City Planning Commission and Health Officer and shall grant the permit or shall notify the applicant that he proposes to deny the application. Notice thereof shall be in writing and sent by mail postage prepaid to the applicant's mailing address as set forth in the application. In the event of denial, the applicant may appeal to the City Council in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.

    B.

    For the purpose of permitting the applicant to correct minor defects, on request of the applicant and his assurance that the matters objected to will be corrected, the City Clerk may extend the time within which he is otherwise required to act on the permit application for a period not to exceed 30 days.
